Cowboys Fall 23-13 at Lambeau, Drop to 2-4
It was another ugly night in Green Bay. The Cowboys lost 23-13 to the Packers on Sunday Night Football, falling to 2-4 on the season. Dallas never found rhythm on offense: Dak Prescott threw 54 times against just 15 rushing attempts — with only one run called in the fourth quarter — even as Javonte Williams scored his seventh touchdown of the season. The defense held for stretches but couldn't get off the field on third downs. In the Monday fallout, Dallas signed safety Juanyeh Thomas to the active roster, waived 2024 fifth-round pick Caelen Carson, and added quarterback Kyle Trask to the practice squad. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown says he's back after missing five games, and the 2-4 Cowboys head to Philadelphia for Monday Night Football against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
No Kings Rallies Draw Hundreds Across North Texas
Hundreds of demonstrators filled Pacific Plaza in downtown Dallas on Saturday for the "No Kings: Vote Early" rally, part of a nationwide round of demonstrations with events in all 50 states. Rallies also took place in Denton, Frisco, Plano, Southlake, and Arlington. Organized locally by Indivisible Dallas, the rally urged attendees to turn street energy into votes — Texas early voting runs Oct. 19–30, with Election Day on Nov. 3. Protesters carried signs calling for the abolition of ICE, opposing war with Iran, and backing Democrat James Talarico in the U.S. Senate race against Ken Paxton. No counterprotesters or significant police presence were reported at Pacific Plaza.
Perot Museum Unveils $185 Million Expansion Plan
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science announced Tuesday a massive transformation of its downtown Dallas campus: a four-acre parking lot will become a roughly 60,000-square-foot outdoor science center with about 25 large-scale exhibits and 40 learning touchpoints. Planned attractions include a forest and treetop walkway, a mist maze and river, a lightning and thunder pavilion, geysers, a giant water vortex — and a fire tornado spiraling over a story high. A paleontology terrace will feature a Tylosaurus rex representation tied to a recently discovered North Texas mosasaur. The project is funded through the museum's $185 million "Curiosity Unbound" campaign, which has raised $135 million so far, with groundbreaking targeted for early 2027 and an opening in late 2028. Museum leaders project about 400,000 more visitors per year.
Gorillaz Bring The Mountain Tour to Fort Worth
Gorillaz brought their Mountain Tour to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Friday, with Little Simz and Deltron 3030 in tow. The virtual band opened with the cinematic title track from their new album "The Mountain," joined by traditional Indian artist Ajay Prasanna on the bansuri, before moving through catalog staples from "19-2000" to "Clint Eastwood." Damon Albarn led a sprawling full-band roadshow with backing vocalists, visuals, and guest turns from Bootie Brown and Black Thought. The tour continues west — next stop Phoenix on Oct. 23 — but North Texas got its night.
